Not the most elegant fix but at least, the headset is working in a roundabout way. I am not a tech person so I don't know why it worked or even how it worked. Again, I went back into Camtasia to readjust the audio input levels and it was fixed. When I used the Dragon program, the audio for the other programs (Camtasia and Snagit) reverted back to no audio. I also use this same headset for Dragon Naturally Speaking (version 13). I went back to Snagit 19 and tried a screen capture recording and the audio was also miraculously fixed. I did a recording and everything was recording properly. I have Camtasia 2018 and tried a screen recording and noticed that the audio was turned way down, so I adjusted it back up to 100%. I decided to find out which programs were affected by this lack of audio. I happened upon this fix for myself purely by accident. I was told that the driver needed to be updated but there is no driver available for this unit for Windows 10. Techsmith advised that I upgrade to Snagit 19, which I did, but the issue was not resolved. Trying to use the Lifechat LX-3000 to record voiceover on Techsmith Snagit 18. Please help if possible before I chuck this thing through the window.I experienced the same problem after Windows 10 update. I have a USB keyboard, a USB mouse, an XBOX360 controller, and multiple USB storage devices that I've connected and disconnected, and none of them have problems. I have had no problems connecting other devices to the desktop's USB ports. Sound I am playing: youtube videos, mpeg videos, songs, or anything at all. There is a constant "undercurrent" buzz that I can hear in the headphones when no sound is being played at all. I also tried connecting it to EVERY SINGLE USB port on my desktop. So, this isn't a problem with the headset.

Just to be sure, I connected the headset to the laptop again, and it worked fine. My desktop is running Windows XP Pro SP3, fully up to date. Even default Windows dings and dongs come through as staticky crackles and growls. Is constant buzzing and crackling (static-like), and any sound that is played via the headphones is distorted to the point of being unrecognizable.

However, the sound in the headphones is completely distorted. After the device was detected, it was correctly set as the default audio device. I then tried connecting it to my desktop. I tested it on a laptop running WinXP SP3, and it worked perfectly.
